Gaggia Classic Pro & Evo Compatibility Guide: Which Parts Fit Your Machine.

The Gaggia Classic Pro and Classic Evo are the same machine shell under two different names and colorways — Gaggia sells the chrome version as "Pro" and the colored versions as "Evo," but the boiler, group head, OPV, drip tray, steam wand, and top cover are identical. That means almost every upgrade part on this page fits Classic Pro, Classic Evo, Classic E24, and the US-market RI9403 interchangeably. A few parts reach back further, to the 2015 EU and 2009 models — we've flagged those below. If you're not sure which generation you own, check the model sticker on the base of the machine before ordering.

Dial in the shot: steam and brew-pressure parts

These two change how the machine actually makes coffee, not just how it looks.

  • Gaggia Classic 9 Bar OPV Spring — $10. The Classic ships from the factory set to roughly 15 bar, well above the 9 bar espresso actually needs. Swapping the spring in the over-pressure valve brings it down to 9 bar (adjustable lower) and stops shots running harsh at the end of the pull. Fits Classic 2015 EU, 2018, 2019, 2020-onward EU, and post-2018 US models (Pro and Evo). Needs a 10mm wrench and about ten minutes.
  • Gaggia Classic Pro/Evo 1mm Single Hole Steam Tip — $15. The stock tip splits steam across two holes; one 1mm hole concentrates it so milk actually whirlpools instead of just bubbling. The cheapest change you can make to your microfoam. Also fits the older 2009 Classic and the E24/RI9403.

Drip tray and clearance

The stock drip tray is the single biggest complaint about this machine — it's too shallow for anything but a demitasse.

Part What it solves Price
Low Profile Drip Tray, Stainless Steel Stands just 2.5cm tall with a 450ml reservoir, so a real glass fits under the portafilter without a stand. $39.95
Extended Low Profile Drip Tray, Stainless Steel Same 2.5cm height, but the front edge pushes out 8cm — enough room to slide a scale under the cup. 900ml reservoir. $54.95
Long Vent Tube for Low Profile Drip Trays Required companion part: a low-profile tray sits below the stock drain line, so this 165mm tube reaches the reservoir instead of pooling water under the machine. $8.99

Buying tip: if you order either low-profile tray, order the vent tube in the same cart — the tray alone won't drain correctly without it.

Counter and cosmetic upgrades

None of these change the shot; all of them change how much you like looking at the machine every morning.

  • Extended Top Cover, Stainless Steel — $45. Swaps the stock top plate for a wider one so latte cups that never fit up there now do. Reuses the original two screws.
  • Cup Rest Grid, Stainless Steel — $22. A stainless grid for the top of the machine so warming cups sit on steel instead of painted sheet metal.
  • Wooden Feet — $36. Turned American Walnut or Ash feet that slide over the stock rubber ones — no tools, and the machine sits a touch higher and quieter.
  • Wooden Steam Knob — $20. Replaces the cheapest-feeling touchpoint on the machine with solid hardwood. Presses on, no grub screw. Pairs with the wooden feet for a matched look.
  • LED Light Kit — $33. Wires to the power switch so it comes on and off with the machine; lets you see the water level and watch the shot pull. Takes the same slot as the water tank riser below — pick one.
  • Water Tank Riser — $6. A thin honeycomb panel that lifts the tank flush with the top of the machine, closing the gap that collects dust and grounds. Mutually exclusive with the LED kit — they use the same space.

All parts above fit Gaggia Classic Pro, Classic Evo, Classic E24, and RI9403 unless noted otherwise. Browse the full range of Gaggia-compatible machine parts or see our companion guides on E61/La Marzocco portafilters and WDT distribution tools if you're also dialing in prep.
